We've added loads of great vegetarian recipesto the site this year, but here are a couple we think particularly worthy of your attention.
Roasted baby aubergine salad
Gurpareet Bains' aubergine saladserved with a spiced yoghurt dressing is great in any weather. It's not only beautiful, but tastes so fresh and delicious that it's best served as a main as you can't get enough of it!
You can alter the spices in the yoghurt to your own preference.
Tenderstem broccoli and paneer sambhal
If you've ever tried paneer, you'll know how incredibly moreish it is. Add a handful of sweet tenderstem broccoli, crunchy carrots and serve with a Pink Lady apple raita – veggie heaven, we promise you.
Feel free to use ready-made naan or chapattis (or even tortillas) if you're short on time to make the accompanying poodla yourself.

Slow-cooked beef buns
If you're not drooling just from looking at the picture to the left, let us elaborate. These buns are stuffed full of tender slow-cooked beef, shredded gem lettuce and coriander, topped off with sour cream. But not just any sour cream. This one has been mixed with chipotle chilli and a squeeze of lime juice. If this doesn't make you hungry, nothing will.
Mary Berry's chicken with pesto and taleggio
Mary Berry takes a break from cakes to create this chicken dish, where the vibrant tomatoes and the aroma of basil leads you to the plate, and the juicy chicken and taleggio cheese keep you there until the very last delicious bite.
Get hold of tomatoes on the vine that are as sweet and as ripe as possible.
Heston Blumenthal's roast leg of lamb
Heston opts for anchovies when it comes to roasting lamb. He says that although "the combination of lamb with anchovies may sound odd", it's actually perfect. "The savouriness of the anchovies brings out the best in the meat without tasting fishy at all." A chicken stock and white wine sauce keeps the meat moist on the table. And, it goes without saying, serve with all the trimmings.

Yes, we've balanced this in favour of treats. The reason is there have been so many stunning desserts, cakes and sweets added this year that we couldn't not include all of these. And we'd have liked to include more!
Coconut rice pudding with blueberries
Rice pudding is the stuff of nightmares for some. Remember those old, thick, gloopy school desserts? Thankfully, this one is nothing like that, and brightens up the day with coconut milk, macadamia nuts, orange zest and fresh blueberries. It'll change your opinion of rice pudding forever.
John Whaite's mojito cake
Best accompanied by – surprise, surprise – a mojito drink, this cake is a great way to treat your family and friends on a special occasion. Don't overdo it, but be generous with the rum. The scattering of lime zest on the top layer gives a sharp tang, before you cut through into the soft sponge and creamy filling, which is also quite zingy.
New York cheesecake ice cream
It's cheesecake. In ice cream. Seriously, just look at this and tell us you don't want some. We reckon it would go nicely with a warm slice of chocolate cake, or you could even use it to top a New York cheesecake, then drizzle over some raspberry coulis. The only downside is that you'll need an ice cream machine to make this.
Nettle and lemon cake
There's no stinging here, just a delicious fresh-tasting cake made with nettles and blackberries foraged from the countryside.
It's cemented together with lemon buttercream and then slathered with the same lovely stuff. You should get a friend to cut into this one, to see their look of surprise when they notice the bright green sponge!
Salted caramel and chocolate tarts
Almost ornamental, but so, so mouthwatering, these minature tarts are what chocoholics must dream about every night. We do most nights.
The invention of salted caramel was quite possibly more groundbreaking than the wheel and, partnered with chocolate, it's more than perfect. Despite looking so immaculate, these really aren't that hard to make, though they do eat up a bit of time.
